The National Register of Advanced Hypnotherapists along with the Swindon PTSD working group is pleased to be hosting a one day conference on Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD) to be held in Swindon at the Marriott hotel, on the 1st of August  2008.

If you work with PTSD or would like to know more about the subject then this is an ideal conference for you. The aim of the conference is to promote a wider awareness and understanding of PTSD and its affects on those suffering from the condition, and, what can be done to help sufferers.

The conference is non profit making.
Any monies raised, after expenses, will be donated to three organisations that are helping people with PTSD. The three organisations are Combat Stress, National Gulf War Veterans and Families Association, and SMUGS, the Swindon based Stress Management User Group.

We are pleased to have an impressive line up of experts who will be talking on the day. The conference is also being supported by a wide range of people and organisations.  The mayor of Swindon will be in attendance, and Swindon MP Anne Snelgrove will be delivering the keynote speech, referring to the government’s position on helping veterans. (Click for the Full program)

The day will be split into two parts:  The daytime is an open conference where the attendees will mainly be professionals with an interest in PTSD.    Dress code: Smart Casual.

In the evening there will be a Dinner & Cabaret. This event will be open to anybody who attended the day time conference, (and partners), and we also hope to attract a wider range of people who may not have attended the conference.   There will be an emphasis on veterans and those still serving in the armed forces.  Dress code: Lounge Suit. Miniature medals may be worn.

The evening Cabaret: Isla St Clair is our artist, supported by a Bagpiper, and Terry Seabrook the International star of Magic. www.islastclair.tv/

Start times: 1st of August  2008.

Conference: meet and greet tea/coffee 9.30 to 9.50 am.  Start 9.50am. Conference ends 4-30pm.

Evening: Dinner/cabaret, 7pm until 11pm.

We would like to thank:

  • All the speakers, who have given their time and expertise so freely.

  • The management of the Swindon Marriott Hotel who have donated the conference venue/facilities and given such a good rate on the cost of a room for the Friday night.

  • Sounds Commercial (Swindon) who have sponsored the cost of the Audio Visual equipment.

  • The Cabaret artists who are supporting the evening at a much reduced rate.

This sponsorship has made it possible for us to hold down the costs for the day and to donate any surplus funds to  PTSD related charities/organisations.

The conference counts as a CPD event.

You would expect to pay over £150 for such top name speakers.

Cost:

Conference attendance: £45. Complimentary lunch and tea/coffee will be provided on the day.

Evening Dinner and cabaret: £35.  (Dinner menu to be published soon)

If you wish to attend both events: £70. (which includes a £10 discount.)

If you would like to stay over at the Marriott Hotel on the Friday night, we have negotiated a special rate of: £53.50 single B&B, or £67 double B&B.

The Marriott Hotel has opened a dedicated web page where you will find the accommodation booking details.  (Click for room reservations)
